Important Message from JFS Food Pantry re Kosher Food for High Holidays
August 24, 2020 4 Elul 5780
To whom it may concern:
The Food Pantry at Jewish Family Service now serves hundreds of individuals and families on a weekly basis during this COVID-19 crisis and the numbers continue to increase. This higher volume of families and individuals served include members of the Jewish community as well as those adhering to a kosher diet. Unfortunately, we anticipate this trend to continue as we head into the High Holidays.
JFS has received both a generous individual donation along with a special grant from the Federation for the purchase of additional kosher food items in advance of Rosh Hashanah for any member of our community in need. These boxes will include beef, chicken, produce and dry goods.
I am asking you to kindly share this information with your congregants and community members.
The additional holiday items will be available on Thursday, September 10 for drive-by pickup between 9AM-12PM at our office located at 5402 Arapaho Road Dallas TX 75248.
I also wanted to let you know during the COVID-19 pandemic, kosher food for drive-by pickup is available to all Jewish families EVERY Thursday. Drivers are asked to line up at JFS and food boxes are brought out to the cars. Everyone remains in their vehicle.
Those requesting kosher food items should simply tell the JFS staff member when lining up.
Together, we can diminish the difficulty that many of our fellow Jews are experiencing.
Thank you for your help and best wishes for a Shanah Tovah.
