Rabbi Yaakov and Yaffa Rubin and family are coming to Dallas next month, from just “down the block and around the corner ” ….. from Austin, TX.
Yaakov grew up in South Africa, but has been Americanized enough that you’d (almost) never know. Yaffa, well… she’s from New York.
After their wedding and a year spent in the Big Apple, they moved to Israel where they joined the famed Jerusalem Kollel. Four years and a few kids later, they joined JLFTexas at UT- Austin campus. With the help of Izzy, Leah, Chevz and most recently Hudy, they’ve hosted Jewish students thousands of times for Shabbat and Holiday meals, BBQ’s, classes, challah bakes and everything in between.
Yaakov studied in the renowned Yeshivas in Denver, Israel and Lakewood and has Rabbinic ordination from Rabbi Yitzchak Berkovits, world-renowned rabbi and Jewish leader of many organizations, including AISH Global. Yaffa is a practicing occupational therapist, a gourmet chef, and an accomplished mentor.
True connoisseurs of life and nature aficionados, they’re excited to bring their passion to Dallas and engage young, Jewish professionals in rediscovering their Jewish spark.
Spearheaded by Rabbi Shaya Fox and the DATA Administration, look for more details and the exciting launch of Olami Dallas (formerly Dallas YJP) in August!
And a special thank you to all those who have helped carry the YJP torch over the past decade:
