After Pesach break in April, May was full of the usual hustle and bustle of TTI activity! From our annual Fort Parker Shabbaton to our record breaking fundraiser and from a local alumnus' wedding to a special ski trip in Colorado, it truly was... a Magnificent May!
Crowd Fundraiser Results ![]() ![]() On May 25th and 26th, we held our annual crowdfunding fundraiser. This year, with the help of our incredible alumni, community members, parents, students, and friends we raised over $500,000 from over 1500 donors! We are humbled by this tremendous outpouring of support and wish to express our heartfelt appreciation to everyone who participated in the campaign. Special Colorado Ski Trip ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() In mid May, we went on our first annual "Project Disconnect" Trip. Perhaps a bit of an explanation is in order. On many levels, we feel that it is healthy (especially for teenagers) to interact more with the people around them, and less with distracting devices. To this end, we created Project Disconnect, in which we offered a special trip to any student who volunteered to have a phone that only had talk & text. An inaugural group of 11 boys signed up. Their added incentive was a 3 day ski trip to Keystone, CO. Accompanied by Rabbi Meltzer and Aharon Schnur (our dorm counselor), the boys hiked St. Mary's Glacier and skied the slopes of Arapahoe Ski Basin, while staying at a beautiful AirBNB home only 7 minutes from the mountain. Judging from the feedback we received after the trip, it looks like we will have more participants next year! Fort Parker Shabbaton ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Our annual Lag ba'Omer Shabbaton was once again held at Fort Parker State Park (which has a bit of an unusual history..). Although the park is less than a 2 hour drive from the yeshiva, it is far removed from the noise of the big city. Students and Rabbeim enjoyed spending time with each other over an extended weekend. The boys learned with their rabbeim, as well as: played in the traditional TTI volleyball tournament, participated in wacky races, played baseball, went fishing, and enjoyed a campfire kumzits! <<Featured Video>> Ahron Schecter from Baltimore (10th Grade) wows the crowd at Donny Rodin's bar mitzvah. ![]() TTI wishes a hearty Mazel Tov to:
