TORCH Dallas: Helping Our Community Prepare for Passover

Every year at the Seder, we open by saying: Kol dichfin yeitei v’yeichol “All who are hungry, let them come and eat.” But those words only carry weight if we’ve actually done something beforehand to make them true.
This Sunday, March 15th, TORCH Dallas will distribute Passover kosher food to families in need. From meat and poultry to matzah, fresh produce, dairy, baked goods, and everything in between, we’re working to ensure every Jewish family can sit down at a proper Seder table.
That’s the heart of Kimcha D’Pischa, “flour for Passover.” First mentioned in the Jerusalem Talmud, this ancient tradition calls on the Jewish community to provide for those in need before Passover so that every family can celebrate with dignity.
This is part of our Moadim L’Simcha program, supported by the Jewish Federation of Greater Dallas, Jewish Family Service, Kosher Palate, Tomchei Shabbos Dallas, and volunteers from across the community.
The costs of putting this together are real, and they’ve grown considerably in recent years. If you’re able to help offset some of those costs, every contribution makes a difference for a family sitting down to their Seder this year.
