This Saturday, 2/25, has been designated as a “National Day of Hate” by white supremacist groups from Iowa. See ADL’s message below for more details about this event.
Although there is no direct threat to the Greater Dallas area, or North Texas at this time, there is chatter on the social media platforms encouraging participation regarding this event. Should any information change, additional CSI Alerts will be issued.
The Jewish Federation’s CSI, and ADL Texoma remain in contact with our partner organizations, as well as local and federal law enforcement ahead of this weekend.
Recommendations for the Community:
1. Report any suspicious activity, vandalism, or harassment by calling 911 immediately, and then to the Federation’s CSI Security Director via email below.
2. Review security protocols with your staff, to include enforcement of your agencies access control procedures into your facilities.
3. Remain at a safe distance. Do not confront individuals distributing propaganda, conducting banner drops or spraying/stenciling graffiti as they may be willing to engage in violence and/or film interactions to use in their digital propaganda.
The ADL Center on Extremism has issued the following Community Alert:
Overview: The Center on Extremism (COE) is aware of the possibility of increased levels of organized antisemitic activity by white supremacist groups and networks on the weekend of February 25, 2023. This activity would likely take the form of antisemitic flier distributions, small protests, and graffiti. The groups involved in this organized effort are relatively small, but they have been successful at attracting significant media attention for their prior anti-Jewish activities. No specific Jewish communities or locations have been named in the chatter, and at this time, ADL is not aware of any direct or specific threats of violence.
Background: This “National Day of Hate” was originally proposed by a tiny Eastern Iowa-based neo-Nazi group in early January. Over the past few weeks, individuals associated with other white supremacist groups and networks have indicated they will participate. These groups and networks have membership and supporters scattered around the country including the Goyim Defense League, Active Clubs and National Socialist Movement. Since 2021, white supremacist networks such as White Lives Matter have popularized designated “days of action” as a tactic to unite fellow white supremacists and draw attention to their cause.
