A United Community Stands Against Get Refusal
Dear Dallas Community,
Navon Daniel Caplan has been married to his wife, Bess, since 2018. They have been separated since 2021, and Navon is still refusing to give Bess a get, leaving her an agunah. A psak has been issued by the Israel Rabbinical Court stating that Navon is obligated to grant his wife a divorce.
This is an egregious abuse of the halachic system to torture another person. Assiduous efforts have been made by numerous Rabbis, both locally and out of town, to convince him to grant Bess a get, yet these have so far proven unsuccessful. Please see the attached letter from the Beit Din of Be’er Sheva mandating the divorce and social sanctions should it fail to materialize, and an informational flyer from the Organization for the Resolution of Agunot about the case. Navon’s last known whereabouts were in Little Elm, Texas, where his mother lives and is supporting him.
On Sunday, March 2 at noon, a peaceful demonstration will take place at 1412 Stillwater cove Dr. in Little Elm. It is imperative that our community shows up, and demonstrates that Get abuse will not be tolerated in our midst. Please see the attached flier for details.
