Former Carlebach Kristallnacht Shul Restored To Former Glory
The beautiful Carlebach shul of Lübeck in northern Germany, the sole shul of Germany’s Schleswig-Holstein province to escape total destruction on Kristallnacht,has been restored to its former glory at the cost of $9,750,000 after damage incurred then and from a neo-Nazi firebombing in 1994.
A gala reopening is being delayed by coronavirus restrictions. The city currently has a Jewish community numbering 650-700 members.
