Over this past year, I have had the pleasure of teaching the Engineering classes at Mesorah. The curriculum is provided by CIJE — Center for Initiatives in Jewish Education. CIJE is an incredible organization dedicated to improving the STEM courses in our schools nation-wide.
The end of each academic year culminates in a CIJE run national science fair competition called Innovation Day. This year, despite a global pandemic, our students continued their school work from home. Working together, while separately, each of Mesorah’s seven teams completed and submitted their projects for the competition. This was Mesorah’s first year competing on the national stage.
Last night, the winners of Innovation Day’s various categories were announced live.
It is with great pride that I congratulate Chaya Sara, Yehudis and Hindy on winning the Assistive Technology category of CIJE’s national Innovation Day competition.
With over 300 projects total, and over 50 projects in their category, our very own Mesorah girls won first place!
Girls, your passion, dedication and commitment to the project has been inspiring to observe. You’ve identified a need, and set about creating a solution. When faced with challenges, (rx/tx, covid-19, or otherwise) you’ve kept your head up and powered forward. You worked together as a team, supporting and encouraging each other, and I hope you feel so proud.
