It is with great sadness that DOJLife.com reports the petirah (death) of Rabbi Shaul Zachariash zt”l.

Rabbi Zachariash was the Rov of the Ohel Moed-Shomrey Emunah shul in West Bloomfield, Michigan.

Shomrey Emunah was established in Detroit in the 1950 and moved to Southfield in 1972 under the leadership of Rabbi Zachariash.

Rabbi Zachariash, with his affability and unique personality, touched an untold number of lives during his tenure as Rov of Shomrey Emunah, drawing his congregants to greater levels of avodas Hashem.

Originally from Los Angeles, Rabbi Zachariash learned at Yeshiva Torah Vodaas and later at Yeshiva Ner Yisroel in Bamtimore. He moved to Michigan from Toledo, where he was a rov until 1964. He relocated to the Detroit area to teach at Yeshiva Bais Yehudah and two years leader took the helm of Shomrey Emunah.

He is survived by a brother in California Yekusiel (Jack) and by a sister Chana (Freida Gartenhaus).

His children are Rivkah Schwartz Flatbush, Orah Jundef (Detroit), Avigail Teichman (Lakewood ) and Rav Avrohom Baruch Zachariash in Yerushalayim.
